Covid- 19 had its baneful ascendancy over global sphere and MH Vatavaran was not inculcated to give up the ghost. For the academic session 2020-21, nurturing nature was carried through online platform with the true belief that environmentalism begin from our rooms! We took up the challenge and successfully completed the session 2020-21 with even more new ideas. To celebrate and memorialize this fantabulous experience, MH Vatavaran released its first Online Journal, “Madhuban 2020-21” on World Environment day, 5th June,2021.
The launch was scheduled at 11am. Principal Dr.Bijaylakshmi Nanda, DR Amrita Sheikh, Coordinator of MH Vatavaran and senior faculties, DR Bani Roy, DR Sujatha Sengupta, DR Janaki Subramaniam, former presidents of MH Vatavaran including Ms. Archa Gulati (2014-15), Ms. Divya Bhatt (2015-16), Ms. Nishtha (2016-17),Ms. Asha (2017-18) and Ms. Chetna (2018-19), Vatavaran volunteers and Miranda House student community added gallery frame for our auspicious event.
Current President, Ms. Komal presented the introduction video and welcomed Principal DR. Bijyalaxmi Nanda to release the first E-Journal of MH Vatavaran, “Madhuban”. Ms. Komal expressed her sincere gratitude to the Journal committee who served their spring and summer for the grant event. Journal committee 2020-2021 include, Sanjwala Mukund, former President, Vice president Ishika Bansal, General Secretory Ishita Sukhija, Joint Secretory Gurnoor Kaur, Change in Range founder and head of Project Zero Waste MH, Ujala Mall, Abhina Jose, Blogging Head, Social Media Manager, Noor Mankotia and Archana Kumari.
Madhuban is a spellbinding record of activities carried under the banner of MH Vatavaran such as poetry competition, poster making, video making, online and offline campaigns such as waste segregation, Anti-litter campaign etc.... Reports along with posters, snaps and links of several events were aesthetically codified to ensure a pleasing flip. Audience were impressed with organised eco-friendly initiatives of MH Vatavaran like paper recycling plant, soil less plantation, hydroponic system and glass garden. Vatavaran volunteer Swati Nayak who bagged entry into the second round in the UN's Tide turner's Plastic Challenge was appreciated.
MH Vatavaran always uphold the spirit of our volunteers and entire student community of Miranda House through innovative and reverberating competitions. To add green to the event results of story writing competition were announced. The audience were excited about the new environmental initiative Plant a tree ; Its free campaign.
Vatavaran volunteers were zestful to the memories and suggestions put forward by senior most faculties and former presidents. Cover page designer Noor Mankotia and entire journal committee were overwhelmed with audience’s plaudits. Ms. Sanjwala Mukund delivered vote of thanks for the event.
