10,000 Steps Challenge - Promoting Active Living for Sustainable Well-being in SDG Eco Championship 2023
In line with our participation in the SDG Eco Championship 2023, MH Vatavaran, The Environment Society of Miranda House, organized a stimulating 10,000 Steps Challenge to encourage students and staff to embrace active lifestyles. This one-time online activity invited participants to complete 10,000 steps in 90 minutes, with each step covering approximately 2.5 feet or 30 inches. By submitting screenshots of their progress, volunteers contributed to a collective commitment to well-being and sustainability. This initiative not only highlighted the importance of physical health but also underlined the positive impact of eco-conscious choices. MH Vatavaran, The Environment Society of Miranda House, proudly operates a thriving eco-friendly product shop at Gate Number 3, exemplifying our resolute commitment to sustainability and active participation in the SDG Eco Championship 2023. This innovative endeavor offers an array of eco-conscious products, including recycled paper products like folders, carry bags, bookmarks, window envelopes, postcards, greeting cards, saplings, seeds, eco friendly pens and more. Our dedicated volunteers manage the shop, ensuring its daily operation for at least 2 hours. By providing accessible eco-friendly alternatives, we strive to empower our college community to make conscious choices that contribute to a greener future.

World Environment Day Celebration - A Triumph of Environmental Consciousness
MH Vatavaran, The Environment Society of Miranda House, marked World Environment Day on 5th June 2023 with a powerful event. Featuring a tree plantation drive, an enlightening quiz competition, and the release of their annual magazine "Madhuban," the celebration revolved around the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution." Esteemed guests Dr. Rekha Kumari, Dr. Bani Roy, and Dr. Amrita Tripathi Sheikh graced the occasion. Dr. Rekha Kumari's speech urged action against plastic pollution, and the tree plantation drive symbolized reforestation efforts. The quiz competition engaged participants and winners Sara, Kanishka, Shreya, and Palak showcased their knowledge. This event, aligned with the SDG Eco Championship 2023, exemplified Miranda House's commitment to environmental consciousness and positive impact.
