This was a visit to witness the exhibition on Raptors organised by the World Wild Fund,New Delhi.
The entire exhibition was explained by one of the World Wild Fund's volunteers.
It was awestrucking to witness the kind of arrangement done to make the exhibition interesting.
The walls were decorated with informative posters and there were paintings of raptors on recycled wood, which was very pleasing for everyone.
Volunteers of MH Vatavaran got to experience the sights and sounds of amazing Raptors through a television screen. In addition, there were hand made portrait of the Raptors on recycled wood which made it 'Vatavaran' friendly
They also got to learn how Raptors are representative of healthy ecosystems and by protecting raptors many other species are also safeguarded.
There was a size comparison made with the size of a crow to make them realize how big or small the bird is in approx.
They got to know about their diet which includes- insect, fish , birds, carcasses etc
The use of Diclofenac in Cattle diet has had adverse effects on Raptors feeding on it. The volunteers also learnt that Vultures being largest raptors have longest life span of 45-48 years while hawks being smallest raptors live for 15 years.
There were various rescue organisations whose information was provided so as to help a raptor in distress.
Overall, the volunteers of MH Vatavaran loved every bit of the exhibition and are looking forward to bringing their peers to experience the same.
